Incense and Sensibility

Author: Sonali Dev

Genre: Fiction

Rating: ★★★★★

Sonali Dev’s Incense and Sensibility continues her Austen-inspired series with a story that blends romance, emotional healing, and high-stakes public life. The novel follows Yash Raje, a rising political figure whose ambitions are nearly derailed after a traumatic incident leaves him struggling with severe anxiety. India Dashwood, a brilliant and intuitive stress-management professional, is brought in to help him regain control and rebuild his confidence. As India works with Yash to navigate his trauma and the pressure of public expectations, the two find themselves drawn into a relationship that is as emotionally layered as it is romantic.

For me, this book was pure perfection—another Sonali Dev masterpiece. The chemistry between India and Yash works from the very beginning, grounded in empathy, vulnerability, and genuine connection. Dev once again demonstrates her gift for weaving emotional depth with compelling storytelling, allowing the romance to grow naturally alongside the characters’ personal healing. It’s a story about resilience, trust, and love emerging from difficult circumstances, and it left me fully satisfied as both a romance and a deeply human narrative.
