The Forgotten Kingdom

Author: Signe Pike

Genre: Historical Fiction – Early Britain

Rating: ★★★★★

In a season when the world itself feels loud and uncertain, it takes a lot for a novel to truly hold my attention. Signe Pike managed to do it again with The Forgotten Kingdom. From the first pages I was completely immersed in her richly imagined world of ancient Britain and Scotland, where landscape, politics, and belief all breathe together on the page. Pike writes with such sensory depth that the past feels immediate rather than distant, drawing the reader into a time where alliances shift quickly and survival depends on courage and intuition.

This installment continues the saga through three compelling voices—Languoreth, the druid Lailoken, and Languoreth’s daughter Angharad—each adding a new layer to the unfolding story. Magic, mysticism, intrigue, and bloody battles weave through the narrative as old loyalties are tested and new alliances take shape. It’s sweeping historical fiction at its best, full of atmosphere and momentum while still deeply rooted in character. Thank you to Atria for the ARC and the opportunity to read and review this remarkable continuation of the series.
